          How does contactless ticketing work?

          ????????????????????????????

There are two main options when it comes to contactless ticketing: cards or mobi?le NFC.

          Contactless cards
This is the one people are most familiar with. Passengers just hold their card ?within two inches of a reader to pay or securely authenticate a traveller's ticket or pass.

          Mobile NFC
Commuters with an NFC-enabled mobile phone can use it as a contactless transport ticket. Their phones store their tickets digitally. To top up, they just tap their mobile device on an NFC reader at the ticket barrier, or when boarding their train or bus. Many cities are already seeing the benefits of using NFC technology for contactless ticketing.
